Food in Chicago

Dear Mom and Dad,

Of course, I have to do a post dedicated solely to food. It’s my favorite part about traveling. We had sushi Friday night at a cute little contemporary Japanese place. Honestly, the jalapeño fried appetizer was such a highlight. I would go back just for them. We also shared two rolls that were also delicious. The meal came w complementary ice cream at the end. Hell yes! Five out of five stars.

Our next Chicago meal had to be a Chicago dog. Our dog came with mustard, relish, onions, peppers, pickle spear, Celeste salt, and ketchup, which is against Chicago dog rules, but Mike loves ketchup.

Our last meal in Chicago had to be deep dish pizza. We ran out of time and had to get it to go, and eat it in the hotel. I dumped an entire bottle of Parmesan cheese on my half. What can I say? This girl loves cheese. Calories don’t count on vacation, right?

For anyone worried about the skin health and safety sunscreen...it has already been in use. I’m sure Michael will have to endure more exposure to me picking out more cream overseas.

We made it to the airport. I went ahead and brought my leftover wine in the shuttle. No worries, sir. It was just apple juice. Vacation is happening! If you look close enough, you’ll see I’m wearing my shants. These pant/shorts have been traveling with me since 2011 and have been to five continents and multiple countries. A traveler’s staple. Stay tuned for more shant sightings.

Of course when we got to the airport, we had to hit up some sush and wine. We are coming for you Barcelona!

Love,

Us
